*Update*
We have just opened a new coffee shop in a nearby village Braithwaite (just a few miles away from the original shop in Keswick) it has the same great service, amazing coffee, quality food and cakes.
It is of course very dog friendly (as you would expect of Jasper's). It's ideal for walkers and cyclist alike (at the foot of Whinlatter). It has outside space (with room to secure your bikes). More info and pictures to follow.
We opened Jasper’s Coffee House in December 2016. It’s named after Jasper, one of our Cockapoo dogs; he had a brother called Dodge (he was the mischievous one - much too naughty to name a coffee shop after him) he sadly passed away in 2019. Jasper now has another brother called Buddy who is testing his patience daily :-)
We are an independent coffee shop and have never done anything like this before so we are very much learning as we go. Our aim at Jasper’s is to provide a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere where our guests are able to enjoy good quality, homemade food and beverages.
We originally based the coffee shop on a dog theme where most items were named after famous dogs, although the names have now changed (to avoid confusion) the great selection and quality still remains. We love to make a fuss of all dogs that visit us, with water, treats and bandanas provided free of charge. We also do a number of other doggy treats such as cakes, ice cream, doggy beer.
We have a small, dedicated team who work really hard to make your experience with us a pleasant one, please speak with them if you have any questions.
We use a local coffee roaster called Carvetii, as we believe it is simply the best coffee in the UK. Owned by Gareth and Angharad, who have been a great support over the past 3 years.
On the walls of the shop, we display pictures from a number of UK artists who have some cool dog-related art. Take a look at their websites (we have links to their websites in the “fun stuff” tab).
We encourage people to send photos of their dogs via Facebook and regularly run a competition where the picture that gets the most likes during that post gets a framed photo on Jasper’s wall (we display the top 3).
